How technology has made it easier for us to monitor our health

Who knew we’ll be attached to technology one day to monitor our health. It is often thought that our technology is making processes faster but humans slower – which is quite true if we look at the current conditions. We can do almost anything from the comfort of our bedrooms. We can shop all around the world, listen to our favorite songs, donate money to various organizations, send messages and receive them etc. However, the best thing that technology has done is that it has made it possible for us to keep track of our health with the same level of comfort.

Today, there are several technological gadgets that help you keep yourself fit and also monitor your health. In addition to these gadgets, we now have softwares and applications that help us monitor our health. The good thing is that we now don’t necessarily need the big treadmills to motivate us to be fit. Most of our health related stuff is now on our smartphones and the latest applications have been quite successful at convincing people to live healthy lives. In addition to that, there are many other small devices that help us monitor our health. Here are some mentionable ones:

· Viva Bear

This is an amazing little thing that comes from VivaLNK. Viva Bear is a very useful device that is designed for parents to keep a check on the health of their children. It sticks to the bodies of the children and gives parents a measure of the temperature of their bodies. The best thing about this amazing little item is that children don’t even feel it when it is attached to them. In short, you don’t have to force the thermometer on your child and make him/her cry when you have the Viva Bear with you.

· Pedometer

There are many applications that perform the task of counting your steps. You can go to App store or Play Store from your smartphone and perform a search on pedometer. You will see many applications that are designed for your health by giving you a count of your steps on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. They even show a graph so you can keep an eye on your progress. The statistics include the number of steps you have taken, calories you have burned, distance you have traveled and any other important information related to your activity.

· The Heart Rate Monitor

Heart rate monitor is another amazing thing you now have available on your phones. There was a time when heart rate monitors were only a part of the fitness machines such as the treadmills, elliptical machines, rowers etc. However, smartphone makers realized the health and fitness trend from people and went for the heart rate monitor. Samsung put heart rate monitor behind its S5 so you could easily put your thumb on it to know what your heart rate was at any moment. This proved to be a great addition for people who had heart related issues.

· Food Autopsy Apps

This is another set of applications that focuses more on your diet than your physical activity. We must know that our health depends not only on our exercise and fitness routine but on our diet too. No matter how much we exercise, if we are not taking proper diet, we are going to suffer at the end. These are the applications that tell you in depth about the contents of the food you are eating. How many proteins you are getting in your food, how much fiber there is in your eatable item and how fattening is a burger; all these questions can be answered best by these applications.
