HIMSS North American EVP Honored for Influence and Expertise in Health IT

Carla Smith, MA, FHIMSS, CNM, Executive Vice President, HIMSS North America, was named as one of the 10 most influential women in health IT by Fierce Health IT. (http://ift.tt/1dB9RFl), a daily newsletter focused on health information technology.

Carla, as the other honorees, was selected with the help of reader nominations. She joins entrepreneurs and innovators, of which she is one, as well as providers, patient advocates and public officials.

As noted in the bio for Carla on the publication’s website, “In a male-led industry, Smith is an inspiration to women as a leader,” HIMSS Director for Strategic Relationships Stephanie Denvir said. “Her passion for health IT is infectious.”
