NantHealth to give clinicians access to entire genome through mobile device

Soon clinicians will be able to browse through an entire genome with a swipe on their smartphone screen, NantHealth founder Patrick Soon-Shiong said Monday during the American Telemedicine Association’s annual meeting in Los Angeles.

The health IT company has “created the Google of genome mapping,” he said, according to MedCity News. Through NantHealth’s clinical operating system, the genome will be accessible on a mobile device, through the cloud. It will allow clinicians to search base genomes to help create personalized treatments, according to the article.

He told the crowd that the goal is to reach the “nirvana” of coordinated care
